When considering the planetary positions and aspects at any given moment, we are looking at the 'generic effect'. This is like the general weather forecast. How the generic weather of the planetary 'influences' at any given moment will affect any given person depends on how the planets connect with their birth chart. I metaphorically refer to it as cosmic chemistry.
That may sound, well…a bit cosmic and out there, but if you take a different perspective, like a galactic perspective, you will soon discover that the planets in our solar system are much closer and much more intimately connected to us than might commonly be understood or believed. For example, Pluto may be considered very far away, and in certain respects it is, yet relatively speaking it and all the planets are very close to us, from a cosmic perspective. But actually Pluto is about 6800 times closer to us than the closest star, Alpha Proxima (a little more actually). Sounds like Star Trek, doesn’t it? The point is that the planets are much closer to us than we might believe. From a different perspective, viewing our entire Solar System as a cosmic cell in the ‘body of the galaxy’, which is exactly what it is, we may begin to understand better why and how we are intimately and intrinsically connected to the planets in our solar system.
Just study the intricate working and intelligence of the life that exists within a single cell. Then take the same perspective to the galaxy as a whole. Actually, by ratio, it is probably about the same. It is now understood that cloning can be done with one cell because every cell in our body contains all the same information as every other cell. This is an example of fractals which are paradoxical components of our holistic universe. The main point is that when you think in terms of ratios in this way you get closer to understanding the ancient metaphysical phrase: “As above, so below, as within, so without”.
Now that you better appreciate some of the mysticism behind what might otherwise prove to be an overwhelming and bewildering reality, you can begin to understand how each and every person actually experiences their own intimate relationship with life and creation. Closer to home, in the cosmic perspective, we can look to the planets in our solar system as the various components of a single cell. Yet, when we look to the specific properties within the cell, like we might if we delved to the atomic level, we would see very ordered activity of planets orbiting the nucleus of the cell. From a cosmic perspective, the Sun is the nucleus. The planets, like electrons orbiting the Sun/Nucleus do so in a very systematic and measurable way.
Now, when we begin to imagine that the entirety of creation from the cosmic to the molecular and everything in between exists for the purpose of conscious beings living on planets, we might begin to appreciate the meaning and purpose of life. Further, when we consider that we are a spark of the source of this creation experiencing itself, we can begin to appreciate that the consciousness and perception of the beings that are both collective and individualized expressions of this divine source share a personal and intimate relationship with it. In other words, that we consciously experience and perceive the workings of the cosmos, in our case, that which is expressed in the Solar System in particular, we can begin to imagine and appreciate that our own personal individuality shares a close and personal relationship with it…all.
So, from the perspective of the earth we experience cosmic motions like that of the Moon and that of the planets in an array of angles and aspects. That these operate in unison is also important to understand. And when we get right down to some of the facts and details of this process we recognize that the relationship that the planets, from our perspective here on earth, can be seen to share cycles of relationship with one another. The science of Astrology studies these relationships. And when we consider that these planets and their cycles of relationship are intrinsically woven into our very existence, we can appreciate the intimate purpose of the relationship we share with them. So intimate is this relationship in fact, that it is linked to the very first breath we took at birth which launched us into another round of relative independence and individuality. In this respect, we can look back to the planets and study their activities and cycles of relationship and appreciate that what these mean and how they are destined to play out has both a generic and in some respects more importantly, a very personal affect. Herein lies an example of a deeper understanding of the cosmic chemistry of the planetary positions and what meaning and purpose they hold in our lives, both collectively and individually. |
