Solar Eclipse New Moon at 25 Capricorn 01
(See chart) This first New Moon of the year is very special and important indeed because it is a Solar Eclipse. That it is occurring early in the year and is the first New Moon of the year, makes it feel like the true beginning of the year. If you have noticed that it is a little slow going so far, this is why. The Moon has been waning since New Year’s Eve. Mercury is stationary retrograde and that will bring its own special focus. And since Mercury is in Capricorn, it will lend a more serious tone. Below is the short list of the main features of this chart. Many of you could just skip down below it to get the straight interpretation. However, if you would like to quickly learn how to better understand some of this rich cosmic language of Astrology, I invite you to register for my upcoming webinar: “Living In-Tune with the Sun and Moon: How to Effectively Read and Follow a Pocket Astrologer” In this course you will learn the language code of Astrology and also how to make practical use of it.
Interpretation Capricorn is a sober sign. It is practical, realistic, dry, cold and serious, and it is also strategic, organized, methodical, capable and responsible. Of course, not everyone who’s Sun Sign is Capricorn will be entirely like this because there are many factors in a Natal Chart. So this description applies to the archetype of Capricorn and it will be more prominent in some people’s charts more than others, even some who’s Sun is in another sign. Now, the Sun and Moon are conjunct = a New Moon and Venus is also exactly in alignment with both at the same degree at this exact moment. Venus is the planet of love in a traditional context, yet is specifically the planet of desires, sexuality, sensuality, beauty, priorities, values and personal possessions. Yes, all of the above are often associated with love and relationships and so on. (True love, is actually of the Sun and is associated with God and children, creativity and unconditional generosity and is devoid of fear.) With Venus is conjunct the Sun, her otherwise warm and sensual charm is ‘solarized’ or dry and sober. Yet, the Moon is there also which brings in the wet to the dry and softens what might otherwise prove to be a rather stale union. Altogether, this aspect is very abundant. With Saturn in Libra, where it is considered exalted, there is reason to believe that the new leadership that is coming in to replace the old guard will be very serious and responsibly dedicated to establishing new laws and norms and values and attitudes that are more respectful, less self indulgent and sober than what we are currently used to in the larger world scene. Given the current state of the world ecology and the imbalance of power and the arrogance of big money powers to do what ever they want, this could actually be a good thing. Some will say it is necessary and its time has come. Interestingly, Jupiter and Neptune are also conjunct in this chart, as they were in the base chart and Chiron is in there as well. This implies a deep spiritual healing and contains revolutionary themes as well. With Uranus, the ruling planet of Aquarius in Pisces, it would seem that many people are awakening to subtle levels of reality at a very fast pace and it is happening at subconscious levels. Anyone who believes that 2010 will be business as usual is in for a few surprises. Mercury in Capricorn closely conjunct Pluto represents a deep and serious mind set towards the solutions of the many problems that we now collectively face. Think tanks, brain storming, research and executive decision making processes will be implemented but due to the retrograde, things will not go quite as planned. If fact, may things stand to change contrary to what ever we may think. Mars in Leo retrograde and unaspected is a real wild card. It suggests that people are tired of the old game and reactions to usual situations may catch everyone by surprise. With the mass awakening, there is reason to believe that people will begin to realize the inherent consciousness that pervades nature and this will stimulate a rising of awareness, vibration and consciousness. |
