Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is? Before you delve into this what I hope will be a thought provoking examination of time, I invite you to learn Astrology online with me – quickly and easily. The 4 - part 90 minute webinar will fast track you to learning how to read and follow an Astrology Calendar. This will give you the language code and the ability to not only read it but to use it as well. In addition to an image rich and colorful introduction to Astrology, you will gain a new appreciation of rhythmic, cyclic time. The next webinar begins on January 21 at 6:30 pm PST.
Time and timing is an important aspect of life. We have long heard that time is of the essence. Most people want to be on time, some even want to be early just to be extra sure they are on time. Few like the notion that they are or might be late. The rational behind the importance of time is intricately woven within the reality of life. When is the fruit ripe? How long will it take to travel here or there? When will the baby be born? When does the tide come in or go out? When is a good time to travel so we do not get caught up and possibly die from ‘bad’ weather? When will the season change? What time will the Sun rise or set? When will the Moon be full or new again? Time is a central component to Astrology. Some would even say the central component. But actually people are the central focus of Astrology – people and time and timing. Time is important to us all for very obvious and practical reasons. Yet, how and why we measure time and how time works and the relativity of time is not so obvious. Al Einstein’s now famous relativity theorems were all about time and perception and time and timing. He did the proverbial by throwing the wrench into the gears of physics. There were others who did not become so famous but altogether, our own relative perception was re-introduced back into the equation. Up until then physicists were seeking absolute objectivity. Einstein demonstrated that this could not be done. He re-introduced the individual, personal perception. This did and has confounded those bent on absolutist thinking. Einstein’s revolutionary ideas did and continue to lend support to psychology, linguistics, neuro-science and spiritual science and more. While we can offer appreciation and gratitude to old Al Einstein, we can also say ‘it’s time had come’. Capricorn is the Sign Most closely Associated with Time. How and why do we measure time and when and where did the measurement of time begin? The question of time and timing is an old one. Astrology as a science is sharply focused on time and timing. In as much as Astrology is Astronomy brought down to earth and applied to the affairs of everyday life, which is a good old way of describing it, we can appreciate that clocks and calendars are Astrological tools. As logical as is the notion of time and timing and the ways in which we measure it, time also holds deep personal significance as well. There is ‘the time’ and then there is ‘our time’. What each aspect of time – collective or personal – refers to varies. Yet it is a simple truth. The bigger question is how do we know the difference and how can we determine when it is the right time for us? Our jobs and transportation schedules and the way we conduct our days do a lot to ‘tell us’ what time is the right time to do things or to go or to stay or rest. At worst, we yield too much to the clock and we unwittingly lapse into what has been called “tic-toc time”. (As far as I know it was wise and clever Stuart Wilde who coined the phrase). In other words, we not only live our lives according to the clock, it begins to govern our every thought and action. The clock becomes the mechanical boss, the tyrant and dictator. Ironically, obedience to the clock can subtly pull us away from our own time and timing. This is where Astrology can help. By studying the cycles that govern our own sense of time, we can learn to be more consciously in-tune with ourselves and nature. The webinar I am offering is Level I of II. There are other courses I will offer in the future as well. Level I is enough to get you going with reading the language code of Astrology – the symbols of the Zodiac Signs and the Planets and the Planetary Aspects and the Moon Phases. Level II takes these cycles which are the real story in any calendar to the next level by overlaying them on your own birth chart. Level I is a pre-requisite for Level II. The webinar are affordable and convenient in that you can learn right from your own home computer – a flower of the Aquarian Age. Learn more here and gain a fresh and useable understanding of the ancient appreciation of time and the cycles of life.
