Last week I outlined a few of many the interesting facts about the Astronomy of our solar system. What is more interesting is how these phenomenal realities have an intrinsic relationship with life on earth and with human psychology. This relationship extends into the seasons and the simple cycle of day and night and of the waxing and waning Moon cycle. Do you think these basic Astronomical realities ‘influence’ you? The psychology of these influences is a core feature of Astrology which measures the phenomenal and cyclic realities of the Astronomy to which we are intrinsically connected, and it goes much deeper than that. Among the facts that I outlined, that are readily accessible in basic Astronomy books, is the fact that the Sun’s light takes a mean average of 8 light hours to reach Pluto (Pluto is highly elliptical in its orbit and at its apogee it is about 40% further away when at its perigee) and about 4.22 light years to reach the closest star! That translates into the simple basic fact that the closest star to our own, Proxima Centauri is about a mean average of 6860.77 times further away than the furthest ‘planet’ Pluto How close would you say the planets are to us now? Given that the entire solar system exists within what might be described as a ‘cosmic bubble’ called the ‘Heliosphere’ we can also begin to imagine that, from a holistic perspective, the entire solar system functions as a unit. This represents a beginning to understanding the holistic science of Astrology. PS Due to the duo planet relationship Pluto shares with Charon, Pluto and the special relationship it shares with Charon – ‘double planet’ – have therefore been re-classified. They now are given the distinction of being the first of the Plutinos. The remaining members of this new group are a field of small planets and possibly duo planet systems beyond the furthest reaches of Pluto and Neptune. Some have already been discovered and named and are now counted as among the ‘lower octave’ planetary bodies measured in Astrology charts for synchronicity. The major asteroids, certain comets called Centaurs, Trans–Neptune bodies (not the same as the actual Plutinos) and now the Plutinos are joined with the many Fixed Stars and Parts of Fortune that are all other sensitive points filled with meaning an purpose available for Astrologers to weigh and measure in the charts of their clients and there are more yet. The day they are discovered and named and the name given lend further significance to their symbolic meanings. This vast amounts of factors may seem to wash out the real meanings. These can be compared to variations of colour or to sound waves and is yet another indication of why Astrology can and must be approached as an art just as much as a science, as is the nature of holism. On a final note, Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20) Seeing the bigger picture yet with practicality in mind is a main focus now. You want to get things done and bring projects to completion. Mixing this with cultural interests and social gatherings is the balance you seek. You are in a playful and creative mood mixed with a healthy measure of competition. Your interest in the opposite sex and in sex may be on the rise. Questions about where and how to invest and commit are lingering. Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21) Exploring, discovering and establishing where you exactly can and want to fit into the world continues. You are willing to take risks and make all the necessary efforts, yet you may remain uncertain. This may stem from current outer social realities at least as much as from within. Yet, the time is ripe to commit yourself to learning. A new kind of apprenticeship has begun. Let go of doubt, venture. Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21) You are on a healing journey. These are not always as fun and pleasurable as one might like. Yet, necessity is commanding. You are ready and willing to let go and let God…. Doing your part requires that you be willing to look deeper at things. Among these is if, where, why and how you are in denial. Be willing to be more aware. Ask questions and ask for assistance and be willing to receive.
Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22) Sometimes push comes to shove and this may be one of those times. How to best discern what to do can be a challenge especially when our fears are stirred. Weighing feelings, emotions, attachments and hard realities requires inner strength. Acknowledge yours now, affirm it and keep your imagination on a short leash. Invest your energy and focus into making needed changes. Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23) You have entered an important learning curve in your life. The time has come to take a clearer and more realistic look to the future. You can’t control what is going on ‘out there’ but you can control your focus. Look at what is and is not working and take note. As you decipher what is not working, direct your focus and energy to what can work better. Cultivate your talents and aim to stimulate multiple streams of income. Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22) Creating more beauty and space in your home are current themes. Improvements, new art pieces or furniture or decorating are likely themes. At deeper levels you are being moved, perhaps pushed to face certain fears. With your overall power potential on the rise, your biggest fear may ironically be linked to success itself or to the responsibility that success might imply. Commit to your dreams, one step at a time. Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22) A growing commitment to experiencing new levels of power is leading you on a quest. Your best investment now stands to be towards strengthening your core. From another angle, accessing your inner authority, strength and power is important. You are wise to act deliberately now to create a convincing and realistic momentum. This coming spring may prove quite challenging for you, so prepare. Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21) Do you know all you need and want to know? More specifically, do you know all you need and want to know about who you are and what you want and truly need? If so, then you are more self-aware than average. Letting go of illusions, delusions, denials and false or limiting self-concepts is a deep and important theme in your life these days. If in doubt, get a check-up, visit an Astrologer or gain wise council from another source. Know yourself better. Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21) Taking new leads and strides is likely these days. Yet, you may not be sure of your direction. Pushing through and beyond obstacles may include overcoming your own belief blocks. The time has come to build upon a healthier foundation. It is important that you advance without looking back now. Some traditions are worth honoring, however. Get information and answers to know your best direction. Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19) Doing work behind the scenes is the call now. This includes offering love and appreciation to whoever you feel deserves it most. This probably includes you yourself. You are in an assertive mood these days and your focus is sharp. With your ambitions running high, you stand to achieve a lot. Yet, also allow yourself to rest and retreat a bit in preparation for the New Year round coming soon. Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19) Increasing your network is a central theme now. People and circumstances are calling, even pushing you out. Yet, even though you are ready and willing to fly, you may still feel uncertain about who you feel you truly are and what constitutes your deeper purpose. Among the answers is a deep reconsideration of what constitutes power. Let go of control and focus on service, on all fronts. Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20) Taking risks to increase your exposure and expand your influence continues. You may feel challenged to feel faithful and confident, perhaps partially due to the state of affairs in the world. It is extra important that you keep the faith and concentrate to keep an open mind. If you think ‘should’, look in the mirror and then lead by example. Many changes are brewing in you. Cooperate and focus on getting healthier.
