The Waning Saturn-Pluto Square on November 15, 2009

and Astrologer David Solte's Scorpionic America

The waning Saturn/Pluto Square is perhaps the biggest event of the season. It occurs on November 15^th, just one day before the New Moon in Scorpio and Venus is there too! (See chart) So, the Moon is in its late waning phase which is called The Prophet, in one of my better Astrology books. It is all about death of the old to make way for the new. Further it suggests a visionary attunement to the future and is subject to critical junctures in development. It also is linked to spiritual and religious movements as they affect culture. Further it extends to vision questing and the journey of gaining a clear reflection of one’s self. Clever new perspectives and inventiveness are also features of this Moon phase, but the religious and spiritual emphasis is strongest. This is especially evident given that this late Waning Moon Phase represents the day before the New Moon which itself symbolically refers to the union of the Sun and Moon. This square aspect between Saturn and Pluto is one of the main indicators in the general sense of the challenging economic times. Although we have seen some reprieve from the state of affairs this spring, we are hardly out of the economic crisis yet. In fact, many things will never be the same again. At best, people will find new and better ways to do business and make money. For many it has been, is and will prove to be very difficult times so making every effort to be more aware and creatively pro-active will prove especially important and that is what good Astrology can assist people in achieving. I am a Humanistic Astrologer, as mentioned, my focus is person centered first but I also focus on cycles and trends in the now and into the future. With this I am also a life coach astrologer, which means that I guide people to positive and realistic action yet by way of choices that honour one’s deeper destiny as the bottom line and not merely for acquiring more money, as indicated but their Astrological birth chart. Not that money and other practical considerations are not at the forefront, because they are, but just that it is not the only bottom line worthy of consideration. It is also worth noting that this aspect occurs on the exact birthday of the government of the United States, according to Astrologer David Solte’ who back in the early 90’s shook the Astrological world, especially the United States itself with his articles about what he calls “Scorpionic America”: http://noeltyl.com/discussion/index.php?topic=1034.0;wap2 This first link offers a very brief glimpse of Solte and lends him support and this one http://www.hermes3.net/scorpusa.htm offers a much more comprehensive and brilliant outline of the entire topic. I have always considered this to be the true birth date of the country, but I also give credence to the July 4, 1776 date which has come to be specifically known as the “People’s Chart”. A country is a large entity and can generally be understood to have more than one chart that characterizes it. Every state, province, territory, county, city and legally incorporated town will also have its own ‘birth chart’ based on the official day it was ‘legally signed’ into being. This aspect of Astrology is called Mundane Astrology and the date and time of signing is linked to what is called “Electional Astrology”. Yes, David Solte was a visionary and very good historian to say the least. I never did meet him and David Solte died, in the words of the above authors, ‘an untimely death’. However, I have always esteemed his brilliant work and courageous dedication. Having done this work I imagine David Solte was at peace with his passing, at least at the deeper levels of his soul.

So, looking at Saturn Square Pluto offers amore generic perspective on events that will influence every nation, city, and person in the world and where it makes specific aspects it will shake things up pretty good. But, we must compare the aspects to the base chart in question to know the deeper story.
