Virgo is All About Right Vocation Right vocation is what Virgo is all about. Cultivating a healthy style based on healthy habits is the broader story. But, right vocation is major. It is where we spend so much time. Some might like to spend less time there. Then again, when we do what we love and love what we do, then we approach our ‘work’ with passion and enthusiasm for the creative challenges that it offers. Simply getting a job for the sake of money and practical considerations may make some sense in the short term but over time it will prove costly to both o the social order and our selves as individuals and society in general. Not surprisingly, there are many psychology tests what can do to decipher one’s type and leaning. The Myers –Briggs personality test is a popular example. Derived from the work of the famous psychologist C.G. Jung, the results of such tests can prove very helpful. However, at worst they cast us as personalities who can then fit into society. What is missed is a deeper appreciation of ‘who we truly are’ as individual souls incarnate and what our deeper, more authentic destiny is. Sometimes simple is convenient and useful yet it can also prove to be very superficial. The rewards that can come from a deeper sense of what nature has in store for us verses simply fulfilling some social role are many. This is one of my favourite and among the most important purposes for which Astrology exists. Seeing what a person might best do to feel fulfilled, which is another way of saying to fulfill their destiny, is very satisfying. And it works very well indeed. Timing is the other consideration and having more than one career or job is not only more likely than not, it is ideal for the sake of truly evolving. Authentic self-expression, inner and outer alignment and genuine contribution to society and so on are just a few of the benefits. On the other hand, when we are not in alignment with deeper realities and levels of authenticity we are more prone to depression, stress, psycho-somatic illness due to repression. Further, society suffers because our negative and burdened states as basically outlined above become the burden of society in general. Interestingly, people often choose well but do not realize it and thereby miss the value of recognizing that their job or vocation is more intrinsically linked to their evolution than they realize. Thus is seen merely as a means to a material end. Sadly, entire industries have emerged and exist that profit from such issues and this deepens the plot significantly. We then wonder why the world is so imbalanced and who are ‘they’ who are causing us so much grief and pain and suffering? Part of the answer loops back to our reactive choices. Further, as we simply get a job to make money and to survive we both support the excessive adherence to materialism and to the corrupting industries that emerge and then profit and then act to perpetuate those profits by all sorts of manipulations and coercions. In simple terms, not choosing authenticity makes us each part of the problems we are so certain are ‘out there’ somewhere. Nature is natural and society is artificial. Both are necessary for ‘civilization’ so both should be honoured at every level beginning with our choices to be more self aware, in-tune and authentic. Working from the social level and then approaching nature implies an outer approach which then leads us to want to control nature based on our well crafted rules, policies and laws. Does this sound familiar? It all makes sense to act this way, yet the very premise of why it makes sense is no longer considered. When we come to understand that we are one with, extensions of, expression of nature rather than apart from it, subject to it and so on then we begin to remember who and what we truly and authentically are and this is where Astrology steps in. Astrology truly is a natural form of psychology based on cycles and natural facts based on the fact that we are born on a planet. Externally, the planet is part of a large system. This begins with the Sun, Moon, Earth relationship and then the rest of the planets which together comprise our ‘solar ‘system’. On the surface we find many regions and each is subject to subtle yet powerful ‘forces’ of nature. Astrology charts offer insights about what could and perhaps ‘should occur or be done on the basis of a deeper authority than that of the outer social sphere of reality. Having to choose between the wisdom of Confucius and Lao Tzu seems unfortunate as each has great merit. But combing them can prove very satisfying indeed. Confucius represents being respectfully mindful of the times and the social order of one’s times – the importance of the greater collective. Lao Tzu, on the other hand, refers to inner attunement to nature and to one’s own inner source and guide. Balance between the inner and outer sounds simple and wise, yet too few people seem to look to the inner because they either do not know how or they do not ‘see’ the value. The danger of excessive leaning on the outer social sphere is that the blind are often leading the blind while the devious lead the innocent. In other words, we owe ourselves and society the respect and responsibility of addressing both interchangeably and periodically whenever we sense imbalance and confusion due to excess inner focus and withdrawal or excess outer focus and influence. Astrology reveals that nature wants us to be co-creators and to do so we must balance our authentic self and destiny with current realities and pressures from without. Among others things, this is where choosing right vocation enters the picture. If you are in any doubt about whether or not your vocation/job is the right one for you please consider called me for an appointment and I will be able to assist you. The negative repercussions of doing work that is not in alignment with your character, soul and destiny has a much bigger price than you may realize. Again, sometimes it is about timing. Even if your job is not right, you can come to better realize what is and then you can begin to set intentions, build ‘bridges’ manage your time begin studies and so on which will lead you there. Even the process of preparation can prove inspiring, healing and empowering. I can help you to more clearly evaluate the probabilities and possibilities of choice and timing woven with a practical strategy guiding you to vocational fulfillment. |
