Tip of the Week: The annular cycle of the Earth around the Sun can be divided into four quarters. These divisions are natural and are the Solstice and Equinox’s. The Solstices mark the shortest and longest hours of sunlight and the Equinoxes measure equal hours of day and night. The 21st day is the approximate day of these key dates and the months are December, March, June and September. These dates mark the beginning of the next season. So, now it is Autumn Equinox and the hours between light and dark are equal. The changing temperatures and light on the planet for any given hour in the day are noticeably different. This natural division of the year is the basis of Western Astrology. The light of the sun or the lack of it in terms of hours has a powerful effect upon our psyche at deep levels of consciousness. Choosing to honour these natural cycles can contribute to greater health. Choosing not to honour natural cycles is the beginning of dishonouring nature itself. The current state of the ecology across the entire world is testimony to this. Astrology recognizes that these cycles are significant and the effects are measurable when we look at people’s natal charts. In this respect, Astrology can be understood to be a natural psychology. The root meaning of the word psychology, by the way, is soul. (P.S. Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20) A close and hopefully constructively critical analysis of your current situation is on your mind. Taking an in-depth look at your life feels necessary. New choices are bringing new responsibilities and vice versa. Desires for love are running high. This may well imply relationships, but perhaps also your career. Digging deep close to home somehow is part of the plot. Get ready to negotiate new deals. Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21) Looking to the future is important to you now. While living in the moment is great, it is even greater when balanced by a vision for your life. A vision can encompass many facets and many smaller goals and intentions can operate within its scope. When vision is woven with destiny, living authentically becomes more likely. Aim to do what you love and love what you do and your vision will activate your soul nature. Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21) Clearing and cleaning continues to keep you busy. Perhaps it is your home, perhaps your body, or your heart and mind that require such attention. There are many ways that we can become cluttered and blocked. Sincere efforts now will bring rewards later. You are preparing to make commitments to new adventures. Be willing to face your fears as necessary and break free! From what or who is the big question. Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22) A busy time gathering facts, data and other bits of information towards understanding a bigger picture is important now. Legal affairs and other such concerns may not be going as you would like just now. The bigger lesson includes deciphering what is truly worthy of your time and energy. Sometimes it is better to cut losses while at others it is important to stand your ground and fight if necessary. Seek inner and outer guidance. Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23) Building upon your power potential is a central theme. This includes tending to many details. Overcoming inner fears and limiting beliefs is ideal. Wisdom knows and modern psychology supports the understanding that to change the outer reflection it is best to change the projection. This means do the inner work to change your attitude and perspective and belief or any other inner blocks as a core feature of your strategy. Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22) Pioneering initiatives and assertions continue. Your focus is getting sharper by the day and you are happy to keep it that way. However, your power potential includes honouring your many gifts, talents and resources as well as those of others. Creative expression and negotiation is implied. Be willing to give fully to situations, yet stay alert to what and who is working and/or not. Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22) Many changes are brewing for you both within and without. This includes big decisions and moves. At worst you feel unstable within it all. The key is to take deliberate action to clear away fears and old attitudes about what constitutes security. The old structures will probably not serve you anymore anyway. Be willing to learn how to let go if necessary and don’t be too proud to ask for support. Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21) Your sense of independence and individuality is really under consideration these days. Cultivating your power potential is implied. You are eager to push through and beyond familiar situations and even to leave good friends behind to achieve your goals. We all must be true to the inner pressures that are guiding our choices and actions and this includes being your won best friend. Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21) Your career is calling; are you listening? What new skills, talents and resources do you feel you need to gather and cultivate? It is important that you pay attention now, especially if you have been rebellious or escapist or denying the very real actions and choices required of you to fulfill your destiny. Review your attitude, efforts, experiences, successes. Take the best and leave the rest. Prepare to advance to the next level. Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19) Gathering knowledge and facts for the sake of managing your affairs is in focus. New levels of leadership are on the rise. Take a clearer look at what this implies. New commitments to new expressions and modes of security are featured. To this end you are ready to take deliberate, even forceful action. Be careful of unwarranted assertions as they may produce sharp and swift reprisals. Think twice, act once. Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19) Mergers in body, mind, heart and soul with significant others is underway. Desires to share your thoughts and expressions are running high. Cultural interests and activities are gaining momentum. As much as you will want to give, it will also be important to manage your energy levels. Knowing whether you are giving too much or too little to any given situation is important, so pay attention. Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20) Giving to people and situations for the sake of harmony and success is extra important now. You will want to be on top of your game more than usual and this will require extra attention. Ironically, this includes your willingness to receive as well. Many returns for past efforts and actions are beginning to come in now. Hopefully you have been sincere over the years.
