Horoscope for the week starting September 4, 2009

Tip of the Week:

            Summer is rapidly drawing to a close. Just over a couple of weeks to go and Autumn Equinox will mark the beginning of the year’s final season. The days remain warm yet they are noticeably shorter and the nights are cooler. This is the way it has always been at this time of the year and always will be until and unless the Earth’s relationship to the Sun is changed by some massive external force. It is this steady reality of the relationship of the Earth to the Sun that is the anchor of Tropical Astrology which honours the Sun’s light reaching the extremities of the ‘Tropics’ of Cancer and Capricorn marking the Equinox dates each year. The exact Full Moon today, September 4^th is at 9:03 am at 12 Pisces 15 which, of course, is always precisely 180 degrees opposite the Sun’s position which, therefore, is 12 Virgo 15. The Sidereal position of the Sun and Moon, otherwise understood as the alignment with the constellational backdrop is 18 degrees 21 minutes of Leo and Aquarius respectively. This discrepancy between the ‘two’ Zodiacs makes some people very agitated due to the erroneous notion that it ‘should’ be one or the other. Actually there are two Zodiacs, one seasonal and one constellational. I have mentioned this repeatedly before but this fact can be confusing and some still ask and challenge so here you go... Further, Pluto turns direct after months of retrograde motion on September 11 at 9:55 am PDT. Pluto is now at 0 degrees Capricorn due to its retrograde dance. So although it entered Capricorn way back in late January 2008, it is still just waiting at the door, so to speak. This will coincide with changes in power and with Saturn and Uranus making their third of 5 Opposition aspects on September 15^th; we can expect some big events on social, political and possibly on geological levels as well, before the month is out!

            PS – Mercury retrograde begins on September 6 at 9:45 pm PDT and will continue until September 29^th. Mercury will begin its retrograde cycle in Libra where it is much challenged when retrograde. Fortunately, by September 17^th it will enter Virgo where it is in about as good a position it can be when retrograde and just before the New moon on the 18^th at 2:44 Pm PDT.

            PPS That it will be at 29 Virgo at the time of the New Moon implies that there will be a lot of deep thinking going on and people will be preparing their cases with scholarly critical analysis to present on whatever front they feel passionate about. The voice of the people is our greatest resource regarding politics and social change. So set your intention to put on your thinking cap and share your views with others and where they count! The proposed amalgamation of the GST & PST for example is the main focus of this PPS I am referring to. Many regard this slick political move as a money grab that will cause marked inflation and mass job loss in the public sector.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

Efforts to improve and refine your overall expression and/or the quality of your lifestyle are a central theme now. For the sake of cultivating more beauty, harmony and flow you are willing to negotiate new terms. Knowing where and how to focus specifically may be at issue. You are clear that some major changes and renovations are in order. Balance pro-active leadership with cooperation.

Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)

Restoring beauty implies a process of cleaning and clearing, upgrades and repairs. This may well imply your home environment, but your work space and possibly. Attending to your health is also likely. Since healthy is beautiful you may have set your intentions to achieve better health. Holistic health implies mental, emotional, and spiritual as well as physical. Decipher what you can do to take a ‘whole’ approach.

Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21)

Gaining security by way of clearing away the old is a current theme. This may include possessions that have outlived their worth. It may also imply perceptions, beliefs, attitudes, habits and/or relationship patterns. Your ambitions may be running high in these respects; however your energy levels may not. Whose assistance can you call upon? Include that of your higher self to access some real power.

Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22)

Your list of things to do may be quite lengthy now. Creating and perhaps restoring a sense of balance is a priority. Making sounds investments of your energies, finances and resources in general are important to you. You are in the mood to push through and beyond existing realities. Some major power players and circumstances are virtually forcing you to act decisively. You may have to do some quick talking and fancy footwork.

Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23)

Making your dreams reality requires that you outline your priorities. Once you know what you want, the next thing to do is make plans and set intentions. Getting organized with your duties, goals and visions is the basic theme. Taking stock of what you already have and then what you want and need is part of the plot. Focus to do the inner work of breaking through fears and blocks to make the outer task of achieving success easier.

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22)

Taking bold initiatives is likely now. Your focus and concentration is required. For the love of power and/or the power of love you are determined to break through any lines of resistance. Consider that the outer reflects the inner so work on any personal limiting beliefs and attitudes as well as those you may encounter without. Affirm your worth yet get disciplined to outline clear directions.

Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Working behind the scenes may feel right these days. Taking initiatives to communicate with others as necessary and getting right to the point so that you can get things done then retreat again is probably a good strategy. Gaining or giving training and instruction may be part of your flow so take the same approach and aim for a crisp, clean and efficient process with respect to your actual energy levels.

Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Learning to be your own best friend is a main focus now. This implies independent action and initiative. With your ambitions running rather high, focus to break through inner and out resistance with constructive and diplomatic measures. Be open to inner guidance and new tools and methods that can help you to achieve this. Reserve your right to take needed space to do what you feel you must to do your thing.

Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

True power includes creative action and practical service. Keeping an open mind about how to achieve both is on your mind. Colourful communications and cultural expressions are likely. Deep and perhaps secret ambitions and desires are guiding your focus. Beware of feelings of victimization because they imply that you are not the creative source of your reality. Take aim with patient and deliberate measures.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Taking practical steps to gain more knowledge is a central theme now. There are many talented people in the world that you can gain from respectfully recognizing. People and circumstances are pushing you to act now. New realities, powers and responsibilities are emerging and you are wise to prepare. Be willing to listen, learn and emulate the successes of others; yet remain true to your own authenticity.

Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19)

Pushing through and beyond limiting beliefs, attitudes and emotions is a common aspect of a conscious and progressive life. The key is to be aware of what might be in the way. Often it is our associations of what constitutes security and how we go about achieving it. Habitual perspectives keep us locked into patterns of behaviour that lead to sorrow. Aim to cultivate healthier habits wherever you feel they are needed.

Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)

Doing what you love and loving what you do is a sign of true success. If you think this sounds idealistic, perhaps you have been convinced by other people, society and circumstances that you ‘have to’ do what you do. Take the time to listen to your own inner and outer dialogue for if and when you say ‘have to’. Replace these with I am choosing as a means of creating a happier and more harmonious lifestyle.
