We Live in the Body of the Sun

The following intuitive assessment of our cosmic status where the entire solar system can be understood to be a whole entity which contains a multitude of whole entities within, it should be accepted as just that. Sorry, no reams of scientific data and statistical evidence and endless debate, just an intuitive and imaginative leap of faith. Actually, the ideas presented here are not just my own and I did not make them up, but the actual interpretation and presentation of ideas is my own. These ideas actually have an ancient root from a time where our connection to nature and to source was more pure and intact. I invite you to put aside for a moment pre-conceived notions and considerations of what reality is and how it works and to open your heart and mind to new considerations and possibilities.

One of the main arguments from science about why Astrology cannot and so does not work is because the planets are considered to be too far away to have any influence. Beyond the fact that the findings of quantum physics is closer to metaphysics than it is to the material notions of Newtonian mechanistic physics, there is an even easier means of understanding the intrinsic relationship we share with the planets in our Solar System.

From the standpoint of the holistic nature of reality, it should be quite easy to imagine and accept that the entire solar system functions as a whole entity. Readily available in Astronomy books and online is the illustration of what is termed the Helio Pause. This basically represents the furthest reach of the Sun’s energy field where it is matched by the equal and opposing forces of inter stellar space. The incoming energies coming from space towards our sun which meets with the Helio Pause is called the ‘Bow Shock’. Together, these two meeting and matching forces produce, what might be deemed, the ‘skin’ of the solar system. The inner layer is called the Helio Pause and the outer is the Bow Shock. Altogether, this cosmic bubble that our entire solar system exists within is called the Heliosphere.

From what I understand, it takes one light day for the Sun’s energy to reach this skin, membrane, cosmic border, or what have you. (Yes, non technical terms, but I hope you get the basic idea.) One light day of travel is about 3 times the distance of Pluto. In some respects, that does seem pretty far. But from the standpoint of astro physics, it is very close indeed. For example, the closest star to our own is called Alpha Centauri, but it’s close and brighter neighbor is Alpha Proxima and both are considered to be equal in distance our sun (from Sol (Latin) Helios (Greek) – you pick). Anyway, the distance to either one of these stars is about 3 & 1/3 light years away. Now mathematics is certainly not my forte, however, simply from the standpoint of ratio distances, when we compare one light day with 3 & 13 light years, it begins to make sense that that planets in our solar system are much closer than it might at first seem.

So we have this energy skin (Helio Pause / Bow Shock) on one hand, and we have a drastic difference in distance between say Pluto and the closest stars, Alpha Centauri & Alpha Proxima, on the other. I realize it is not hard science, but in light of these two factors we can begin to imagine that, from a cosmic scale, and I am referring to the very close cosmic neighborhood of stars here, the planets are virtually in our face, so to speak.

When we begin to look at life and the universe from a holistic perspective, we begin to see that the ancient understanding that nature manifests as an infinite myriad of wholes within wholes, we can begin to transcend the limitations of linear thinking, time and space. From a microscopic perspective we can appreciate the wholeness of a single atom, molecule and cell, for example. Closer to the surface of the playing field, we see whole creatures, people, families, towns, cities, countries, continents and so on. From a cosmic perspective we see whole planets and Moons and so on. Taking our perspective a little wider we see whole solar systems and whole galaxies and universes…? I like to imagine that each Galaxy as its own universe which literally translates as one song. (Because I am viewing the Galaxy as a whole cosmic being, I capitalized the first letter. I like to do this with Moons and Planets as well because I see them as cosmic beings.) Both can be true simultaneously due to the magical reality that is the holistic nature of the universe. It should come as no great surprise that some of the terms used to descibe the universe from the standpoint of string theory include, magical, mysterious, matrix.

Our Solar System, therefore, can be understood to be one being. Its name again is Sol or Helios…. Now, you might be wondering why I am giving the name of the Sun, our Sun to the entire Solar System. The reason is because the entire Solar System is the expanded body of Sol our Sun. What we see in the sky, that majestic orb that lights, warms and even burns us, can be considered its heart center. In this respect, all the planets in the Sol’s body are a part of or one with it. From this perspective, while the Sun is the Heart and Spine (and soul portal) the planets are its organs. O.K. on one hand I referred to them as beings unto themselves and now I am calling them organs of the body of Sol. That is true and I believe that both are true statements. (Yes both, hurray for both and and…).

Imagine that! Imagine that the entire universe is conscious and that every whole entity possesses its own whole consciousness. Even those aspects that may not be considered whole, although I am not sure if that is possible, is pervaded with consciousness. From what I understand from my studies is Astronomy and Astro Physics, the Sun contains 99.9 % of the mass of the solar system and the solar radiation pervades every molecule. That seems pretty whole and complete, doesn’t it? Imagining these things may seem like a bit of a leap and many feel less than confident to make such intuitive leaps but leaving all the facts and fun to the scientists seems boring and disempowering to me.

Besides, as an Astrologer I am certain that Astrology works; the ancients sure knew it, virtually all cultures in the world believe it, the breakthroughs in quantum physics now support it.  But the scientists remain undecided. From this assumed branch of authority, it has still not been broken down enough to be given an official stamp of approval. When I say Astrology works, I am referring to all branches of Astrology actually and to Numerology and to other related esoteric sciences. Of course, scientists are generally funded by others who may not be scientists themselves. Often they are businesses and it may not actually serve their interests at all to support the claims of Astrology. Many scientists may actually hold staunch religious ‘beliefs’ and the Western world at least, Astrology lost favour quite a long while ago. Interestingly, the Zodiac embedded on the grounds at the Vatican adorning its majesty remains a center piece for tourism…. The tests that are best conducted with Astrology and Astrologers who actually know what they are doing is experience. Statistics has already proven it. However, the approach of statistics on Astrology runs the danger of overlooking the holistic approach required to truly grasp the deeper reaches of what the chart offers. Wholes cannot be dissected and bisected and so forth and maintain their wholeness. Astrology is a holistic science and it works wonderfully.

From this holistic understanding of reality we can begin to appreciate how the entire universe is one great whole, one grand continuum. That it is conscious is something science itself has perhaps inadvertently stumbled upon. This is giving birth to a new awareness and appreciation of what consciousness is. We are awakening to the intrinsic spirituality of the universe that transcends all religious belief. This is laying the ground work for new understanding in science and bridges are being built between disciplines of thought like science and religion, where gaps and enclosures were created especially a few centuries ago. As the saying goes, it is all good and there has probably been very good inner reasons for all this secularization. Yet, those days are ending quickly now and as that period of history draws to a close, many ancient truths are spring back – as is the nature of truth. Astrology is one of those truths. More importantly, the holistic world view upon which Astrology rests is rising again. Among the many new realities that are emerging in its wake are apparently fanciful notions that maybe Sol, our Sun and Solar System is actually a whole conscious entity after all. On the basis of such a crazy idea, Astrology and other such esoteric systems might emerge to be recognized, understood and embraced for the glory that it is.

Actually, the story can be taken one great leap further whereupon we might delve more deeply into appreciating that the Sun that we see and feel in the sky, the heart center of Sol’s system is actually itself a portal to inner dimensions. That our heart and the Sol’s share the same quality is part of the story. This is certainly what the ancients ‘knew’ and it is a truth that is regaining momentum.
