Mars close to Earth, Jupiter & Comets, Cataclysms in History, Confusions & Cover ups Every year since 2003 an email has been circulating saying that Mars will be very close to the Earth in August and will appear as big as the Full Moon and this event will not occur again for hundreds of years. Actually, Mars made its nearest approach to Earth back in 2003. Sorry if you missed it. It sure appeared big, but not as large as the Full Moon, as I recall. That year also witnessed many forest fires that scourged many places the entire world coinciding in time with the close approach of Mars. The synchronicity was obvious. Sadly, the strict linear logic of our times influenced most people, thanks to the steady flow of disinformation from popular media, to overlook the connection and consequently, they did not make the association. Connections and associations missed by the excesses of logic and reason – see the pattern. The same was true back in the summer of 1994 when Jupiter was hit by comet Levi-Shoemaker 9. That year coinciding with the comet strike many fires all over the world also raged. Many do not seem to recall that year. Neither do people seem to realize that had any one of the 21 pieces of the comet struck our planet, it would have literally wiped out all life in a Star Trek Genesis Project sort of way, but with even much greater catastrophe to the actual surface. Fortunately, Jupiter absorbed the comet as it is virtually designed to do as a significant feature of its many functions. With its powerful gravitational field, Jupiter absorbs comets, meteors and other stellar debris that might otherwise pay a rude visit to our precious little jewel of a planet. Of course, Jupiter has not always come to the rescue and a growing body of scientific evidence is supporting the cross cultural claims of our predecessors that our planets has been struck repeatedly by meteors and comets than have caused catastrophic cataclysms. The notion of these may create fear. Then again, facing the sudden prospect of death but such events can actually serve to bring us back into a deeper respect for the power of nature and awaken us from the lull of sleepy security that dark forces are happy to perpetuate. Yes, the delicate balance of energy to keep people just afraid enough to obey and just secure enough to assume and informed enough not to think for themselves is perhaps one the most clever pieces of trickery of our times. One might consider it good government however the media is not owned by the government, it is privately owned. Yes, private interests with measurable power are generally very interested in perpetuating that power, an old story. I feel this way because as an Astrologer, it is clearly evident that Astrology works. However, it would seem that the ‘authorities’ are reluctant to admit it. Call it a casualty of mechanistic science and/or a convenient perpetuation of thinking that keeps people away from knowing themselves in a deeper way that clearly illustrates our intrinsic relationship with nature. Fortunately and ironically, thanks in part to the advances of modern science, ‘the times are a changin’ and the appreciation and acceptance of the holistic nature of reality is re-emerging. Beyond the encircled square symbol for holism mentioned above we can also simply say that holism is the reality that we are ‘in’ God and God is in us. Notice how the laying field is leveled with this understanding and how quickly hierarchies become relative notions. This is especially true in the spiritual sense and by it no one can be said to be ‘closer to God’ than anyone else. That old glue simply does not hold anymore. The same can be said of the notion of grace that swept and continues to silently weave through many of the Protestant sects of Christianity and which continues to perpetuate a neurotic work ethic that actually became unsustainable decades ago. But, humanity seems addicted to the pace and pulse of working. Are there forces at play making sure we continue to think and behave this way or is it simply our collective addiction, or both? |
