The Heart of Astrology

Conscious Co-creation and Fulfillment of Destiny is

The Heart of Astrology

Over my many years of study as an Astrologer I have witnessed and experienced a rather wide range of styles, philosophies and approaches. Each has their merit. Yet, at worst, there is much confusion about the public at large about the various methods of Astrology available. I am not speaking here simply of different systems altogether like Jyotish (Vedic) or Western (Tropical) or Chinese or Mayan or Celtic. Each of these systems stands on their own ground of integrity and worth and I have studied them all. What I am referring to here is the core intent and attitude of the Astrologer regardless of the system that they use professionally. All systems of Astrology can be used to assist people to be more aware and centered and to make better choices for themselves in their life. When our choices are in alignment with our deeper soul nature, we may say that we are in alignment with nature itself and our destiny. If all an Astrologer does is affirm what a person already knows, yet in doing so, deepens that person’s confidence in their ability to accurately intuitively access their inner, soul knowing, then it has already provided a great service. Once this is achieved, a client may choose to consult an Astrologer for return sessions, sometimes in close succession over a period of months and sometimes years later. Dependency is not the goal. Assistance to be in healthy alignment with one’s choices and life path is. When inspirations, visionary attunement and yes, strategic timing and planning based on predictive techniques is offered in addition to the base level of core affirmation, then the Astrologer may be said to have done their job responsibly and well. This is the core gift of Astrology and the deeper essence of its value.

This approach is towards assisting people to be authentically who they are and were born to be. This can often prove to be the beginning of consciously living one’s most authentic self. This approach to Astrology aligns with Humanistic Astrology as pioneered by renowned Astrologer Dane Rudhyar. Among the many beautiful features of this understanding is that we are supported to be the individual we feel ourselves to be. However, often in the course of life, due to external environmental, familial, peer and societal pressures, people are often either forced into ‘the box’ or to otherwise conform. The pressure to conform at the expense of one’s individuality is one of the most fundamental issues that confront modern society. Of course, learning to live in harmony with society and the times requires that we co-operate. This call to co-operative co-creation, however, is not a synonym for conformity, at least not in the strict sense of the word. Currently, we live in a fairly free society and while this would seem to produce more conscious and individuated beings, what we see is confusion, conformity, imbalance, illness, escapism, addiction, meaninglessness and so on, on a scale that does not match the freedom and privileges available to us. The reason is that people are not as aware of themselves and who they are as individuals as they might believe. Consequently, choices and actions are often reactive and confused or imbalanced and out of alignment.

Living your life more consciously is one of the golden keys to raising collective consciousness and therefore co-creating a smoother transition though this critical evolutionary juncture. You do count. Each and every one of us counts. Believe it or not, the key to making your presence count is to be more aware and therefore live your life more consciously and authentically. This is my core dedication as an Astrologer. Merely predicting future events and then being judged on whether or not the prediction was accurate is not the heart of Astrology. Many believe that this is what Astrology is and even Many Astrologers seem to believe this to be its primary aim. Predictive Astrology is an important feature of Astrology to be sure and a fine art. Yet, at worst, is leads people to see it as a glorified system of fortune telling. In as much as prediction is all a person or a practitioner deems Astrology to be, then it is merely fortune telling. The danger here includes auto-suggestion and betrays the conscious co-creative participation in life and the activation of possibilities of choice and action that are in alignment with our deeper nature and destiny. When prediction is included in a deeper assessment of character and destiny and is used to assist a person to be more aware of who they are as a conscious individual and what constitutes wise choices, focus and action for them as an individual, then Astrology becomes the holistic and psycho-spiritual tool that it has the full potential to be. The true value that Astrology offers is helping you to be more self aware, in-tune and centered to be the person life meant for you to be. If this includes leading the masses, then wonderful! If it means healing your own issues and karmic imbalances, then so be it. Every person counts. This is the heart of Astrology.
