Outline of Michael O’Connor’s Educational & Entertaining Astrology Slide Shows All of the slide shows listed below feature colorful and provocative images chosen and positioned to educate, inspire, inform. Activations of higher awareness and consciousness occur via the key phrases offered with most of the slides. My commentary brings each Presentation full circle and is offered before, during and after each slide show. Using images to explain the rich and complex themes found in Astrology makes the experience entertaining, enriching and educational for students brand new to Astrology and related topics and to more seasoned and experienced students alike. Backed by many years of study and ongoing studies and interests in the themes presented, these Slide Shows are gaining the attention and earning the satisfaction of viewers everywhere I present.
The emphasis is upon patterns in nature which demonstrate an intelligence in nature that not only reveals itself in design and fractal patterns from the macrocosmic to the microcosmic and everything in between, it also reveals how this intelligence offers clues and methods of reading into aspects of its purpose and function in any persons life or that of a legal or political entity such as a business or city or country. By way of ‘fractal maps’ that exist in the positioning of planets, on various parts of the human body –hands, feet, eyes, ears, liver - as well as in our name and birthdates and so on, we can quickly discover that not only is nature conscious and intelligent in a holistic and all pervasive way, it actually appears to communicate and offer tools for insight and wise action. Winter Solstice 2012 has and continues to gain the attention of people all over the world. There is a very beautiful and rich story that is behind this rapidly approaching date. Both awesome in its implications and hopeful in terms of much needed changes in the world, there is also a serious message of climate changes. The historical, mythological, philosophical, astronomical and spiritual themes surrounding 12/21/2012 is very impressive. Many aspects and predicted epic themes surrounding this date and the events it implies will be covered from the direst to the most promising. Will we actually experience a polar axis shift, as some noted authorities are predicting or will it promote a radical and sharp polar shift in consciousness as others suggest or both? Among the many intrigues of this event such as the Galactic Center, the Equator of our Galaxy, and the Black Hole that exists at the center of the galaxy etcetera, is the understanding that the 12/21/2012 Great Alignment represents a meeting between the Sidereal Zodiac and the Tropical. The latter is based on the Precession of the Equinoxes while the latter, which is predominant in the West, honors the Seasonal Sunlight based Zodiac. To bring these closer together, I bring emphasis to the powerful list of planetary alignments from the Western Tropical perspective that are occurring now and will be active in the lead-up to 12/21/2012. There is more than one system of Astrology. Some are similar while others are very different indeed. Drawing a parallel to each system to be like a language, I demonstrate that each is valid on its own terms and ground of perspective. Many people who are critical of Astrology base their argument on the differences between each and thereby conclude how they cannot actually work. This error of reductionistic logic presents a very narrow, dogmatic and erroneous perspective. The fact is that each system works according its own foundation of logic, very much like languages do, which appears very different beginning with the alphabets they use and the pronunciations, grammar and cultural idioms etcetera, yet each is valid in its own right. I have studied a variety of systems over the years and have learned that each works and offers different angles of perspective that can prove very insightful, practically useful, spiritually and psychologically supportive and culturally enriching. Over the course of the evening, participants will be introduced to Western Tropical Astrology, Mayan, Chinese, Vedic or Jyotish and Celtic Astrology as well as related systems which share an Astrological basis. Astrology specifically and life in general is all about cycles. There are always many cycles underway and they invariably overlap and converge and where they do, peak events are experienced. There are many kinds of cycles and the duration can be as little as a minute and as long as literally thousands of years. But, regardless of the size and duration or types of cycle under consideration, each can be measured using the same basic measuring tool. This is the Moon Phase Mandala and it can perhasp be seen to represent the 'anaotmy of a cycle'. This measuring device is intrinsic to our own experiences and has been from the beginning of the very inception of life on our planet and has been ever since. The Sun and Moon are referred to as the “Luminaries” is Astrology. The relationship they share has both literal and rich symbolic meanings and implications. These can be used to gain insight into character and into timing of events. There is 8 primary Phases in a Moon Phase Mandala and the cusp of border lines between each represent peak points in any cycles. Each Phase also has its own specific theme. This slide show is very interesting and offers a technical understanding of cycles that is quite easy to learn actually. This visual journey will take you deep into the world of Astrology. The science of Astrology is based on the fact that it is based on Astronomy and also based on the logical methods and techniques required to prepare and interpret any chart. In this respect, good Astrology, that which employs a synthesis of both left brain logical and right brain intuitive approaches, can be seen to have an empirical basis in truth. Further, ‘good’ Astrology offers interpretations that are accurate and more importantly effective in affirming, awakening, inspiring and guiding people to the fulfillment of their destiny. In so doing the term ‘good’ can be replaced with ‘great’ Astrology. Yet, the deeper reaches of Astrology reach beyond the logical and even the intuitive. At this level the journey enters into the rich and powerful world of symbolism. Yet, the symbolism of which I speak is that which is mapped on the chart itself, the very Mandala upon which the planetary symbols and signs and aspects are mapped. Within the symbolisms presented is an even deeper reality that might rightly be deemed esoteric. In this respect, the symbols transcend that of signs and brands and logos and labels and so. Here the symbols reach right into the heart and soul of life itself. Here we learn that the symbols of Astrology contain deep truths and not merely representations of other things or ideas or products or organizations etcetera. These symbols take us into the spiritual essence and the cosmic origins of life. The universe is holistic. This is part of the mystery. The language associated to this term includes archetypes, dimensions, fractals, portals, synchronicity, intrinsic, pervasive, paradox, perceptual riddle, matrix, mystery, mysticism, magic and so on. Ancient understanding like that of the Zero Point and the Solar Logos are also core features of this perennial philosophy. These amazing understandings stem from the fact that consciousness pervades every facet of everything in the universe. This consciousness can be called the mind of God, or it can be understood as the plan. However one chooses to conceive of it, this consciousness expresses itself as a loving, creative, intelligent and purposeful reality. In as much as we are ‘made in the image of God’ these are the same attributes that we each can express and inspire in one another. Coming full circle, this journey will take you into the very building blocks of Astrology. In so doing, it will reveal to you both the symbolic roots and the logical steps and mechanics of how an Astrology charts actually hosts all the terms mentioned above in association with the descriptive words for a holistic universe. In so doing, not only might you gain an appreciation that Astrology works, but also how and why. With this basis, your learning of Astrology and related subjects will be deep and accelerated.
