       Michael O’Connor is a full time professional Astrologer and currently lives with his life partner, Shari Montgomery in Nelson, British Columbia - a picturesque mountain town in the Kootenays. Michael enjoys a busy Astrology practice that includes counseling, consulting, life and career coaching and caters to an international clientele. Michael also teaches various kinds of classes, facilitates workshops, hosts educational Evening Presentation slide shows, and writes columns and articles.

         My studies in Astrology began in 1981 after writing an essay in my senior high school year. I was already interested in the study of human nature and that experience was the spark of a clear intention to understand people and life from a holistic and spiritual perspective. After 2 years in college where my main focus was Sociology and Psychology, Philosophy, History and Human Geography, I attended Concordia University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1989 with a major in English Literature, Linguistics and Composition - the stories of human experience and language were more inspiring to me than the science of psychology at that time.

        All the while in University, a passionate interest ensued in Astrology, Numerology, Tarot and related subjects. These related subjects include a cross-cultural study of religion, mythology, linguistics and metaphysics. I am particularly fond of Taoism, I Ching and Feng Shui. I also have a deep appreciation of Buddhism, 8 Fold Path Yoga Kabbalah and Huna I also enjoy the implications of Sacred Sites and Crop Circles. Other related subjects that I have studied and respect include Iridology and Rayid (related sciences proven to be effective maps for assessing physiology and psychology through the iris of the eyes). It is noteworthy that the genius of Denny Johnson, inventor of Rayid - the psychology of the eyes - was able to determine character based on Birth Order and Mr. Johnson subsequently developed a very unique and powerful tool that measures character and evolutionary destiny with relative ease, elegance and sophistication. I am one of the few Canadians certified to teach this Psychology of Sibling Sequence Birth Order. More recently, my interest includes Mayan Astrology and Sacred Geometry. I have also studied and experientially learned mind development techniques such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Silva Mind Control, and Lucid Dreaming, Transpersonal Hypnotherapy, Transcendental Meditation and Body/Mind therapies such as Psych-K.

            In addition to a busy practice doing Astrological readings and consultations, I also offer a variety of inter-related workshops. These range from Astrology to Numerology to the Art of Living based on health and spiritual and psychological orientations. My core interest in all of these studies is to understand human nature and the nature of life in order to awaken and inspire people to their destiny and greatest potential. This is where Astrology proves to be an invaluable tool.

When I do Astrology Readings I generally begin by looking at who you are - your core nature. This person-centered approach is emphasized over the more traditional and still common approach of prediction or event-oriented analysis. Both the person-centered perspective, forecasting events combine to offer practical guidance and greater awareness for the sake of making better decisions and choices.

        Overall, I have come to see a rich network of philosophies and techniques that share clear links and translation - evidence of a holographic universe expressing it’s self through archetypes and fractals. This cross cultural knowledge is the basis and evidence of my appreciation of a transformational, evolutionary journey that encompasses all of life both from the standpoint of the whole universe and every single ‘apparent’ part from atoms to galaxies. This holistic and cosmic celebration reveals Art, Science Religion and Magic to be the cornerstones of spiritual design and consequently, human endeavor. Perhaps more importantly, the practical application of this rich and varied background of knowledge and experience is to awaken and inspire people to Purpose and Success in Career, Relationship Harmony and Health. When to Sign Contracts, Appreciation of Karma, Awareness of Destiny and Free Will, Trust in and Understanding of Change, Timing of Evolutionary Life Cycles are subsequent themes. Ultimately, I seek to offer Affirmation, Inspiration, Vision and Strategy to my clients toward helping them to achieve a deep synthesis and balance of their material and their spiritual nature.

Living life in this way brings us into alignment with the divine plan.
