Horoscope for the week of Jan 09, 2009

Tip of the week:

The first Full Moon of the Year comes to fruition on January 10^th.  In bigger news… Jupiter is now in Aquarius where it will remain until the cycle is complete on January 17, 2010. Jupiter was in Capricorn, which is considered one of its most challenging positions. Not surprisingly, 2008 was a challenging year indeed. With the roller coast of housing and market crashes, and rising unemployment, just exactly what is going on here? Few can clearly say! The Astrology charts illustrate what is happening based on planetary positions. As Astrology measures the revolution of evolution, the cycles of the planets and stars it offers a guide that greatly helps us understand events and their nature and duration and meaning. A revolution in our society and the world in general is underway. 2009 will prove to illustrate this fact very clearly. 2009 will prove to be a year of reckoning on many fronts, especially the economy. Yet, due to the ecology, things simply cannot continue as they have anyway. The environmental issues we face may not be the cause for these disruptions, but it is good reason to accept that this disruption may have a thick silver lining to it. The splendid fullness of the Sun’s light reflected on the Full Moon comes to mind.

Consciousness operates in a continuum until it is disrupted. Psychological techniques include this disruption and re-patterning approach. Nature operates this way and Astrology is ‘natural psychology’, because it is based on nature and natural rhythms and cycles. Jupiter in Aquarius will bring a positive influence to help people to awaken and become more aware of what is important. The ecological crisis of the world is at least as important as the economy. Many would say, much more so. Let us make use of this disruption rather than simply react to it. This will be the beginning of bigger tests of our faith and civility, of our appreciation that we all need and want to be here just as much as everyone else. Life is a gift and celebrating that fact implies respecting that everyone feels the same way about it. Deepening our connection to and deepening our appreciation of the land and nature is the simple answer. Can a modern civilization do that? Perhaps it had better!

According to Mayan Astrology, we are now in the ‘Age of Accountability’. This includes everybody. What is accountability and how can we adjust our values to accommodate finding wise answers and acting upon them? Jupiter in Aquarius will activate innovation and communications. We are about to see an increase and acceleration of information, knowledge and awareness. Networking and future oriented visions will be pronounced. Some forces will try to use this process to deceive while others will aim to use it to awaken. Since energy flows where attention goes it is good to remember about the power of intention. Cooperation and communication is the ideal of community and we are fast approaching a global village. We have all the devices we need and now we need to use them even better than before.  Accountability implies responsibility and it the opposite of blame. “Ask now what your country can do for you….” Jupiter in Aquarius will bring the phrase, think global and act local, to a whole new level!

Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)

A new Philosophy is being born in the world. People are turning back to the land. Farming, gardening, arts, crafts and other simple pleasures beckon. Income is not always dollars and it can come from many streams. The revolution can be quiet and gentle by keeping life simple and discovering the divinity in that. Other grassroots movements with emphasis on solutions, especially environmental ones, are important and beautiful as well. Water, food, clothing, creativity shelter, love, community; the philosophy is timeless and true.

Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21)

A fresh breath of air is filling your lungs; inspirations are rising from your soul. Despite deep changes that speak of changes and endings, you can also sense the rebirth all the while. There is much to do and people are beginning to pull closer together. This is your rejoice. You know blame is never a solution; choice, visionary action and unity ever are. Meanwhile, inner work is calling you. This includes facing fears. Rising above dualistic mind divisions implies the way of the heart.

Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22)

Some very passionate players on your stage are pushing you to new depths and heights. The plot is set and the need for directed purpose is strong. You recognize that there are many ways as there are many people. Yet, you must honour your own path and calling, even at the expense of others. Being part of a bigger team is important all the while. This is a time of building new foundations of trust and allegiance as former ones are replaced. Innovate!

Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23)

Precision, refinement, and grounding of your arts, skills and philosophies is the call now. At the root of these is health. This includes your body, mind and soul; diet and exercise, visionary focus and positive attitude. Gratitude is ever a wise first step, as it opens the heart. Both feet firmly in touch with the ground, a mind open wide and the heart activated for realistic measures is your simple, sophisticated task!  

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22)

Strong impulses and reflections of your emerging power should be evident by now. You feel strongly about matters and have much to say. The awakening is happening, but is it fast enough? What more can be done? How else to gain people’s attention? These and other such questions and concerns are stirring in your mind. Love is ever the answer, yet there are many ways that it can and must be expressed. We simply must find our own way and thereby discover that others too are on that path. “Change your mind and leave the rest as it is!”

Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Some major clearing has begun in your world. Whether in your home, community, mind, emotions, body or soul, or all of the above, something is shaking. What was is changing or needs to…. Foundations of any kind can last only so long. Inertia and decay are the way of things. Yet with change and transformation, rebirth is eternally the way as well. The will and ability to flow with this reality is the key to success. Whatever is happening, look for the silver linings of opportunity!

Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Deep changes are brewing in your mind. What you once imagined believed and asserted to be true is now subject to incoming alternatives. You may notice that challenges to see yourself and the world and in the world are coming from both within and without. This could prove confusing, undermining and frustrating. On the other hand, it could also prove liberating if you choose to trust and yield to the process. Trust the opening, celebrate the possibilities!

Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Amidst shifts and changes brewing on all fronts, you are happy to take a conservative approach just now. The time has come to get more focused somehow. The next six to nine months will prove extra important for the sake of several years that will follow, in terms of the quality of your choices. Trust the guidance of your intuition now. Beware of becoming too conservative and narrow. Instead, aim for simple joys and long-term sustainability.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

The drums of change are beating loudly now, or is the pulse of your heart? Perhaps both are sending deep, reverberating waves through your whole being. Either way, the beat is calling and guiding you to move on and not to look back. What was is over and new chapters are ready to be written. This will become increasingly apparent to you this year. For now, take a pioneering lead by way of the path of possibilities.

Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19)

“This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius….” Well, o.k. 1993 was the crack of the dawn when the World Wide Web was born into social reality. Anyway, the world and yours as well is opening and expanding. With the new Age comes innovation and change and you are destined to be a part of it. Rights and freedoms, equality and justice, culture and art are six main pillars of this time. How are you tuned-in, or not? Take some time now to meditate on these to ensure their activation or to set your intentions to incorporate them into your life.

Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)

A passionate push to envision fresh possibilities and experience new horizons is active in you now. Your power potential is growing steadily, yet you must access faith in the world and confidence in yourself to succeed. Patience balanced by deliberate resolve to make some key power moves is important now. This means get ready for change mentally and emotionally, activate your vision, plant seeds of intention and stay alert to the sprouts and openings. All the while, Affirm your worth!
