Horoscope for the Year 2007

The following list offers a detailed breakdown of each planet influencing each sign in point form for the time period of January 1, 2007 to January 1, 2008. (*Please Note* as there is 360 degrees in a circle and there are 12 Zodiac Signs, the degrees listed can never be more than 30 degrees. I tell you this so that the degrees and minutes do not confuse you. Further, each degree consists of 60 minutes and each minute consists of 60 seconds, just like time.) For the sake of some added depth and to deepen your education about Astrology, I have included some explanation of Duads and Decants which you can read more about below.

These interpretations are a reflection of the Astro Weather and have a generic quality. In other words, while the influences they represent will be operative and probably noticeable, how they will influence people on an individual basis is more of a personal matter. This sketch of insights is a brief one and commentary can be lengthy according to respective angles of focus, yet it does provide an initial sense of the trends and themes. The Horoscope entries for each sign will lend that much more insight and as mentioned on my site there are two other signs in particular that you can read that will also prove insightful. Above all, consider obtaining a personal Astrology Chart reading with me for a truly accurate, clear and insightful look at your core and basic nature and where you are at now in the cycles of your life and what this upcoming year’ cycles indicate in terms of opportunities, changes and challenges so that you can live your life with greater awareness and choice to live on purpose.

Pluto

On January 1, 2007 Pluto was at 27 degrees Sagittarius 3 minutes and by January 1, 2008 Pluto will be positioned at 29 degrees 09 minutes of Sagittarius.

Pluto is the furthest planet from the Earth and so moves rather slowly through each sign of the Zodiac and it completes a full cycle in 248 years. As each of the 12 Signs of the Zodiac can be further divided by 12 to equal 2.5 degrees called a “Duad”, these divisions have significance, especially the last 2.5 degrees or Duad, which can generally be considered to be critical, with the very last degree of any Sign being the most critical of all. So for example, with Pluto in this position all year, we can expect some powerful transformational processes. This is especially true with Pluto as it represents power and it so happens that the last 2.5 degrees or Duad of Sagittarius is Scorpio, the Sign that Pluto rules. (The first Duad of any sign is governed by that sign and the next 2.5 degrees is governed by the next sign in order of the Zodiac starting with the sign in question. Thus for Sagittarius, the last Duad is Scorpio because it is the sign that precedes it. To get a better idea of this you simply have to look at the Zodiac and count 2.5 degrees for each sign in a counter clockwise direction)

By way of interpretation, Pluto at the last degrees of Sagittarius will have very powerful implications in the areas of religion, philosophy, foreign exchange, higher education, publishing, morals and ethics and collective beliefs in general. The point is that we will all undergo some measurable changes and transformations in these areas. Pluto acts to purge and purify, change and transform whatever it touches. On many occasions over the course of 2005 I have drawn attention to the fact that Pluto at this position of Sagittarius is also in conjunction with the Galactic Center which is 27 degrees of Sagittarius. This aspect can be credited with the powerful changes unfolding in all the power structures, governments and institutions of the world. These changes will become much more evident over the course of 2007 and especially next year, 2008. In simple terms, Pluto in this position is leading us to create many changes in the way we view power and to begin to return to the move towards greater integrity. Admittedly, it may also produce many new hidden power structures as well and it is unrealistic to believe and highly unlikely that all of these will be benevolent.

Over the course of 2007, the only far planet to aspect Pluto will be Saturn on August 6. Fortunately, the aspect will be a Trine which is considered the most fortunate aspect in Astrology. That stands to lend to a great deal of enthusiasm and creativity. This is especially so since the Trine is a Fire aspect and both Pluto and Saturn will be in Fire Signs, Sagittarius and Leo respectively.  That the aspect occurs while the Sun is in Leo adds even more fuel to this Fire. Take note and make the most of it. On a deeper note, any planet that forms an aspect to Pluto comes under the influence of powerful transformational forces. Saturn and Pluto and the sign of Leo especially where Saturn is currently, are all strongly linked to power, and control and leadership and authority; perhaps the world will gain some initial glimpses of true integrity at the helms of power making important decisions that actually benefit societies and people at large and not simply a perpetuation of exploitation for private interests which have become a prevalent theme in the world over the past century or so.

Neptune

On January 1, 2007 Neptune was at 18 degrees Aquarius 08 minutes and by January 1, 2008 Neptune will be positioned at 20 degrees Aquarius 17 minutes.

Neptune like Pluto moves very slowly and this is especially true these days as Neptune is at the slow end of its orbit. While Neptune will only advance a little over 2 degrees over the course of 2007, it will enter what is the 3rd Decant starting in late February, the 22nd to be exact. Similar to Duad illustrated above, each sign can be divided in to 3 segments of 10 degrees called Decants. The first Decant is ruled by the sign in question, the second by the next sign of the same Element according to the natural order of the Zodiac and the third Decant to the next Zodiac Sign of the same Element. So, Neptune at 20 degrees Aquarius is in the Libra Decant. This basically indicates the ideals of true justice and equality. I say ideals because Neptune is the Sign of ideals. This coincides nicely with the activities associated with Pluto.

The biggest challenges linked to Neptune this year are reflected in a series of opposition aspects with Saturn. This so happens to be a very challenging aspect indeed as Saturn and Neptune can be considered to be extreme opposites. Saturn symbolizes dense matter, structure and form and the laws that govern physical reality; as well, limitation, time, delay and discipline. Neptune on the other hand is mystical, dreamy, nebulous, transcendental, idealistic, vague and timeless. This aspect creates deception, distrust and suspicion. Underhanded means to achieve worldly ambition is common with this aspect. The first of this series of oppositions began last year and over the course of 2007 it will occur twice, once on February 28th and again on June 25th. It is very likely that it will coincide with deceptive dealings that we may never actually hear about. Unfortunately, these stand to be of the sort of unscrupulous business activities that negatively affect society and humanity as a whole.  On the other hand, this aspect calls for clear and honest exchanges and if we suspect deceptive dealings, we may just be able to spot it when it occurs and act to prevent it.

Uranus

On January 1, 2007 Uranus was at 11 degrees Pisces 33 minutes and by January 1, 2008 Uranus will be positioned at 15 degrees Pisces 22 minutes.

Uranus in Pisces is in Mutual Reception with Neptune in Aquarius. A mutual Reception aspect occurs when 2 ruling planets are in one another’s Sign. In this case, Uranus rules Aquarius where Neptune is currently and Neptune rules Pisces where Uranus is transiting. This is very auspicious for humanity as a whole. This aspect began in March 2003 and will end in 2011. It is contributing to an acceleration of consciousness and mass awakening to higher realities. Of itself, Uranus in Pisces is awakening us all to the power of the subconscious mind. Further, it is illuminating previously hidden realities and many deceptive organizations and activities are being brought into the clear light of day. There remains much deception and confusion in the world, but at least people are beginning to wake-up and this trend will accelerate and become much more apparent by 2011.

Over the course of 2007 Uranus will receive three challenging aspects from Jupiter. All of these will be a Square aspect and there are three because of Jupiter turning retrograde in early April. The basic themes associated with this hard aspect include attempts at grandiose plans or get rich quick schemes. These are not bad in themselves per se; it is more a matter of timing. This aspect is linked to losses of large sums of money so it will be wise to think twice before laying large sums on the line.  Also, cultism and eccentric religious practices are likely to flare-up and entire masses of people could be led into unhealthy spiritual associations that promise big and deliver small, except perhaps to those engineering these charades. Further, what constitutes unhealthy spiritual practices and attitudes etcetera is open to interpretation

Saturn

On January 1, 2007 Saturn was at 24 degrees Leo 26 minutes and by January 1, 2008 Saturn will be positioned at 8 degrees Virgo 26 minutes and will be retrograde as of December 20th 2007.

Saturn is the first of the two far planets in 2007 that will change signs. The other is Jupiter. As Jupiter and Saturn are referred to as the “Social Signs” in Astrology, the signs that are closely linked to larger social cycles, they indicate some of the changes that will be seeded in 2007 and which will take on much more energy and impetus in 2008. This trend is very much in- tune with the fact that 2007 is a Universal 9 year.

Saturn is currently in Leo and will enter Virgo on September 3. Aside from occasional challenging aspects from the personal planets, as is also true for all the planets, Saturn will receive one very significant aspect only and that will be a benevolent trine from Jupiter on March 16th. This aspect could prove very advantageous to anyone who is lined-up to take full advantage of it. Saturn will also make a Trine Aspect to Pluto in August as mentioned in the section on Pluto above. Also, as mentioned above in the section on Neptune, Saturn will make two challenging Opposition aspects to Neptune. Also, as Saturn will be in its last degrees or Duad in 2007, we stand to witness some rather critical actions especially on the part of leaders. The last Duad of Leo is Cancer and Saturn in Cancer can be emotionally cold and harsh.  In its most negative expression, the aspect could produce varying degrees of despotism and fanatical leadership based on selfish gain for power. At best, this will be the actions of leaders reflective of a father who is stern and authoritarian from the stand point of realistic necessity, and so ultimately benevolent.

When Saturn enters Virgo in September, we stand to see a much more concerted focus and preliminary efforts on the part of governments to make decisions with the environment clearly in mind. Virgo is the sign of health, holism, hygiene, ecology, lifestyle patterns, habits and rhythms and the health and purity of environment in general, or lack thereof.

Jupiter

On January 1, 2007 Jupiter was at 8 degrees Sagittarius 18 minutes and by January 1, 2008 Jupiter will be positioned at 2 degrees Capricorn 54 minutes.

Jupiter is the ruling planet for Sagittarius so for it to be in its own sign over the course of 2007 we have reason to feel optimistic. Jupiter in Sagittarius will generally prove uplifting to people in many ways. Social and cultural activities and movements stand to be very exciting and grand. The love of religion, philosophy, travel and culture is basically emphasized. Perhaps a truly global vision will be born where all nations, creeds and cultures etcetera recognize their common ground as a human family. The codification of social thought is the deeper end of the deal as Sagittarius can be very serious about proper moral and ethical codes. Further, the quest for truth will range into spiritual, religious and metaphysical perspectives and this could prove very exciting and liberating to some yet also quite threatening to those whose religious beliefs are dogmatic and so unaccustomed and afraid of truly deep and sincere enquiry into human nature and other aspects of natural reality. In other words, it stands to open the discussion and debate about God and any who believe that they have that interpretation and understanding all squared away may well feel challenged as the floor opens to debate.

Sagittarius is the quintessential sign of nature in its fullest depth, expansive reach and glory. It is the passionate interest in the realization that we are not merely in nature, as our mind may tend to lead us to believe, it reminds us that we are nature itself! For example, we are made up of the very same elements as the planets and the very cosmos itself. Sagittarius knows no limits in terms of its reach for higher truths and reality and in this respect can be considered cosmic and seeks to achieve cosmic consciousness. Astrology works by virtue of this understanding and is linked to timeless ideas like ‘sympathetic resonance’ ‘oneness’ ‘no islands in the universe’ ‘the divine plan’ and so on. So grand questions, debates and discussions about the greater scheme of things, who we are, the deeper meaning of life and our place in the world and the larger universe will all become much more prevalent and perhaps even break through the highly censored mainstream media.

On the other hand, Jupiter is big and when in its own sign this grandiose quality will be most apparent. So, in as much as it makes or receives challenging aspects, the challenges it represents could come across in a much exaggerated manner. This is where certain people and factions will make great efforts to convert others to their way of thinking. In certain respects this is fair and understandable as limiting beliefs must be broken and converting to a higher vision could prove very healthy. The biggest issue linked to this is dogmatic, fanatical and fear based coercion of people using fear and violence as a means of convincing them. History is unfortunately full of such actions and attitudes and hopefully we have evolved enough to see beyond such tyranny and criminal behavior. Overall, Jupiter in Sagittarius indicates the likelihood of visionary and prophetic attitudes and actions.

Chiron

On January 1, 2007 Chiron was at 7 degrees Aquarius 50 minutes and by January 1, 2008 Uranus will be positioned at 13 degrees Aquarius 12 minutes.

Chiron is symbolic of the Wounded Healer archetype and it is most interesting at this time to see it in the sign of Aquarius. This is the sign of brotherhood, friendship, clubs, group affiliations and the ideals of equality between all people. On a personality level, Aquarius expresses itself in individuated, unorthodox, inventive, unusual ways and often does not feel appreciated for their eccentric attitudes or understood for their future oriented visions.  On the other hand, they do not care necessarily and would rather assume a rebellious, aloof and, at worst, superior attitude. Aquarius is a fixed sign and they can be very stubborn indeed and would sometimes rather enter into rebellion than change. At higher reaches, Aquarian born people are revolutionaries who share their visions and ideals with others and challenge the status quo with revolutionary impetus. They do feel sympathetic for the problems of humanity and the woes of others but their approach is more intellectual than emotional.

With Leo as the polar opposite sign, Aquarians achieve balance by truly being focused upon love and heart felt feelings to counterbalance an otherwise detached and even indifferent attitude.  There is more to say about Aquarius but at this point I simply want to point out that the wound that humanity is currently confronting is one of a wounded heart. We have learned to place too much emphasis upon the mind and intellectuality and not enough upon the heart and love. This is the core wound that we all as individuals and as a species need to recognize and heal.

With Chiron in Aquarius at the degrees mentioned above, this stands to be very challenging indeed because when Chiron enters the second Decant of Aquarius ruled by Gemini, or is from 10 to 20 degrees, it will very likely stir blaming attitudes because Chiron in Gemini is very challenged and its principle issue is one of blame. Chiron will be at 10 degrees Aquarius on January 30th and will remain in the second Decant until January 26, 2009! More specifically, Chiron will be in the Gemini Decant and Duad until March 3rd then, due to its retrograde movement will re-enter it again on August 3rd until December 7th, 2007. These time periods stand to be very heated in terms of blaming attitudes. The healing of the heart theme mentioned above will be extra necessary during these times and throughout the time period that Chiron is in Aquarius, which in its full measure of time will continue until February 9 2011. The third Decant of Aquarius is governed by Libra and Chiron is also much challenged in that sign as it indicates significant blind spots and subsequent challenges especially on interpersonal relationship fronts. So it would appear that we have a lot of healing work to do over the next 4 years and things could get very confusing and nasty unless we are aware and responsible to the healing needs of humanity along the lines briefly illustrated above.

Lunar North Node

On January 1, 2007 the Lunar North Node was at 18 degrees Pisces 35 minutes and by January 1, 2008 Uranus will be positioned at 29 degrees Aquarius 04 minutes.

The Lunar Node Axis is a very powerful feature of Astrology both East and West and is a strong indicator of evolutionary dynamics and processes. Throughout a person’s life, the movement of the North and South Node correspond with 9 year cycles and this measurement is very revealing when considering a persons priorities, orientations and choices at any given time period in their life. The Node Axis consists of North and South with the North symbolic of the head and the South the Tail of a dragon. This is the mythic dragon of destiny, in this case. Consequently, the North Node gains particular attention as it is where we feed, have eyes and breathe fire, so to speak. It takes almost exactly 18 months for the Lunar Nodes to transit through any given sign.  By year end 2007 the Lunar Nodes will be in new Signs – Aquarius and Leo. This change of Signs for the Lunar Axis will occur on December 15, 2007. For the scope of this discussion, however, I will trace its movement through the remaining degrees Pisces which, after all, encompasses the almost the whole year. By the way, the natural movement of the Lunar Nodes is retrograde so it goes against the grain of the direction of all the other planets, giving them even more special attention!

The North Node in Pisces represents a deep soul search. In this regard it is very mystical yet also significantly challenging to let go of ingrained habits as represented by the South Node in Virgo. At worst, this process is very confusing and even frightening. With Neptune as the ruling planet for Pisces currently in Aquarius, and in mutual reception with Uranus, as mentioned above, we have some reason to feel confident that the cosmos is assisting us at this crucial evolutionary juncture in our modern civilization to awaken to the fact that all of humanity is one family and that we can no longer afford to perpetuate many of the attitudes and perspectives that keep us divided from one another and from the laws of nature. In these respects, we have a great deal of work to do and we do not have much time to do it. This especially due to the fact that the ecology is experiencing too much stress and decay and Mother Nature will retaliate with a vengeance as we can already see happening all over the world. So, the current position of the North Node especially is about awakening to new ideals that are actually in touch with the realities of our times. This is something of a paradox because the North Node is in Pisces which is the sign of dreams and ideals. However, it is also the sign of the collective subconscious mind, or as the popular term thanks to Carl Jung goes, the Collective Unconscious. (This term is problematic because the subconscious is not unconscious, it is simply below the threshold of consciousness and, if anything, we are unconscious of it but it is actually very conscious indeed.) Anyway, it is also interesting to note that when the North Node does shift into Aquarius in mid December of 2007 Uranus, the ruling planet of the new North Node, will be in mutual reception with the Neptune.  As the cosmic scheme goes, we are being given additional opportunity to awaken from our delusion that we can continue to contaminate the environment as we are currently and this is a social issue and not merely a governmental challenge. The subsequent levels of meaning for the position of the Nodes for each sign are outlined in the Horoscope for the year of 2007.

Blessings for increased consciousness in 2007 and may these insights add awareness to your journey for our collective sake. I am open to your comments, reflections and insights so please feel free to contact me by email.
