New Moon in Sagittarius – November 27, 2008

     Happy New Moon in Sagittarius! November 27^th at 8:54 am PST is the official moment.  I will use the New Moon platform to illustrate current events. The world and perhaps especially, our entire society is on the verge of some very big changes. We all know it and there is little to deny or stop it. Fortunately, the Astrological picture can offer us additional insight and guide us through so we may proceed with our eyes open and our being attuned to the natural flow of our own world and part of the universe. So, the planets and their positioning is certainly synchronizing with this time of evolutionary revolution. What this will include is a celebration of what Astrology can offer you to navigate smoothly through the troubled waters that lie directly ahead.

For now, I want to draw you attention to the main energies associated with this Moon and also as they are reflective of the larger picture as revealed in the Astrology Chart cast for the exact moment of the New Moon in Sagittarius. Initially, we see the close alignment of The Sun, moon, mercury and Mars in Sagittarius. This is quite the forceful energy pattern. While Sagittarius can be jovial, with Jupiter in Capricorn in sober, dry, serious Capricorn we get a slightly different feel. That Jupiter was in alignment with Venus is a silver lining blessing that we could sure use. I think this will prove to keep emotions buoyant enough over this lunar cycle, overall to make the approach of the Christmas season feel all the more heartening. We may even see a return to the spirit of the tradition of Christmas where people will be far more interested than in what they are giving. I also imagine, due to Jupiter and Venus in Capricorn in harmonious trine aspect to Saturn in Virgo and with Mercury in Sagittarius, people will generally be moved to be buying wholesome, organic, healthy, sensible, ethical and environmental and charity linked gifts where the gift of giving is felt by many simultaneously. Beyond the gifts, the simple act of being with people we love will prove uplifting, reassuring and even heart warming, but not too sentimental. In fact quite possibly uproarious even, at worst, negative, cynical and generally problematic.

The spirit of Sagittarius asks that we embrace a spirit of unity, commonality and communicability. For this reason, the churches may prove to be little fuller, for a while. A fine mix of feeling both sentimentally, traditional, sobered by the empire state problems we collectively face. Those more eager to realize the change and the revolution may even feel inspired by it all and this may cause some divisions. But, defenders of both sides of that fence know that the old game is up and enjoy it as we can and may in this moment, there is much healing that must occur. That there also exists a deep sense that we are not as innocent as we were no so long ago will be on the airwaves. We are both more aware that many games and players that have been busily doing what others would not agree to, there will also be a mix of realization that we are more aware of the higher things in life, the spiritual realities, than we used to be. New messages have been floating in the collective mind for at least the past 40-50 years and these are finally coming to collective awareness. So, the Sagittarius New Moon is activating our dreams, awareness’s and visions and these will take a definite turn to what people interpret to be true and even “the truth”. In this respect, our challenge is to awaken to the relativity of perception and come to realize that the truth is not knowable, in an absolute way, while we are in duality. The scientific basis and the spiritual realization are both there to guide to the higher minded realizations that make Sagittarius the glorious sign that it is.
